and radiologists. Many of our referral
centers are in communities that avoid the
crush of big-city life but that support high-quality,

Emergency Clinicians
Our emergency doctors work as part of a specialty team to ensure that the highest level of care is delivered 24 hours a day. We encourage a spirit of cooperation and communication with specialists and emergency clinicians being integrated into a unified medical delivery team. Our emergency doctors continue to learn and train with the specialists and through continuing education. The emergency staff has access to the same equipment used by the specialists.

Practice Managers
Horizon is interested in hiring personable, skilled and experienced practice managers. We also actively recruit and train young professionals who have leadership ability and are motivated to learn the complex skills of referral practice management. Managers placed in affiliate hospitals enjoy the ongoing support of the Horizon group, so the problems of a new manager being inexperienced and isolated are avoided. Training of new managers becomes an education in business management, human resources, and the promotion and marketing of veterinary referral centers. On-the-job training becomes effective, rewarding and enjoyable.

Support Staff
The foundation of a busy, high-quality referral practice is the support staff that cares for the clients, patients and doctors in the practice. Horizon believes that a team of excellence can only arise from individuals of excellence. Practice Ownership
Doctors who are interested in opening a new emergency/specialty hospital, or those in an existing hospital seeking a partner to help stabilize and grow the practice should consider Horizon in a partnership role. Staff Training
Horizon Veterinary Services can help you build a staff of excellence. Horizon makes it possible to send your staff to an affiliate hospital to work with our staff and obtain a new perspective on medical and administrative issues. We can enroll your staff in Horizon training and continuing education programs that not only teach concepts, but also address real problems and discuss effective options for resolution. We can provide an assistant training program, complete with curriculum, audio-visual presentations, handouts, tests and teaching manual, so you can bring a formal training course for veterinary assistants into your veterinary community. Horizon will even train one of your experienced technicians to teach the course. Horizon recognizes that a practice of excellence comes from a staff of excellence and we are prepared to help you reach this goal.

Financial Services
Horizon Veterinary Services has a bonded bookkeeping and accounting team that can support any referral practice. We offer a spectrum of financial services that includes budgeting, bill paying, payroll tracking, account reconciliation, financial statement reporting and performance analysis.
