“Successful relationships in referral practice
are based on the recognition of primary care
veterinarians as ‘specialists’ in their own right.
Cooperation, communication, and education
among specialists and generalists, with information
flowing in all directions, is an important part
of bringing excellence to a veterinary community.”
Dr. VanEnkevort was present from the very beginning,
when the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center was
under construction and Horizon Veterinary Services
was a plan for veterinary management professionals
to share their experiences and expertise with other
veterinary communities. Bruce is a founding member of these organizations and has been intimately involved in the development of Horizon’s network hospitals. As the person responsible for oversight of surgical services in these facilities, he has been instrumental in developing the high quality and standards of care for the practices.
